The Executive Director Clinical Operations Inpatient at Loyola University Medical Center is a transformational nursing leader with 24/7 responsibility for the strategic management of a large portfolio of inpatient operations, which may include some ambulatory and/or support practices. The Executive Director is the leadership link for translating the organization's vision and annual operating plan to the daily work of front-line leaders. Additionally responsible for implementing and overseeing highly reliable, safe, and well-coordinated care, that align with the LUMC annual operating plan and Loyola Medicine strategic plan. Mastery of the AONL© executive nurse competencies of communication and relationship management, knowledge of the healthcare environment, leadership, professionalism, and business skills/principles are fundamental to the executive director role.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead evidence- based quality and safety programs at the organizational level, evaluate the outcomes of these programs using complex data management methodologies, communicate the outcomes using data tables/graphs, and proactively make recommendations for improvement plans.Manage talent by role modeling, coaching, and engaging in career planning for novice to mid-level leaders. Develop pools of talent that are engaged with succession planning and talent management activities at all levels of nursing.Contribute to the overall organization's financial health by developing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing workforce management plans and departmental labor budgets. Recommend and implement existing (or new) models of care based on changing patient populations. And manage nursing engagement programs that contribute to recruitment efforts, retention, and engagement.Effectively manage complex relationships with multi-disciplinary teams, leaders, executives, and physicians to achieve the organization's annual operating goals.Actively participate in shared governance, contribute to nursing excellence programs, and consistently implement the Professional Practice Model in support of the ANCC Magnet designation requirements.Demonstrate personal and professional accountability by contributing to the profession of nursing through personal career planning, professional advocacy, and role modeling standards of professional practice. Including collaboration and/or partnership with academic institutions to further the science of nursing.Oversee a portfolio of regulatory requirements impacting patient care services, and proactively ensure state and federal regulations are met, as well as other program/population specific programs that are required. Included within this is, the development and/or revision of nursing policies, procedures, and guidelines using evidence- based practice(s).Proactively identify and manage areas of risk/liability, and when gaps are identified rapidly lead teams to reduce organizational and individual risk.Actively represent the organization at professional and community-related events.Minimum Education:
Master's degree in Nursing required. Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) preferred.If the Master's degree is not in nursing, then the Bachelor's degree must be in nursing. DNP and other related terminal degrees are acceptable and strongly preferred.3-5 years of previous job-related experience, 6-10 years preferred.Managerial Experience: 3-5 yearsCurrent RN license in the state of Illinois.At Loyola University Medical Center, we know you’re more than your job. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
Annual Bonus: Eligible for incentive compensation annual target as outlined in Plan Document.
