The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Executive Director, Epic Revenue Cycle Optimization to work in Miami.

The Executive Director, Epic Applications - Central (H) provides strategic and operational leadership for Epic revenue cycle applications, including Resolute Physician Billing, HIM, and Resolute Hospital Billing. The incumbent oversees a team of managers and analysts, ensuring maintenance, management change, support, and issue resolution. The Executive Director leverages knowledge of revenue cycle processes to align applications with operational needs and works with leaders to ensure technology meets business and compliance requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

Oversees support, upgrades, builds, testing, modification, and analysis of Epic revenue cycle applications.

Collaborates with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, growth and expansion opportunities, and improving patient experiences and outcomes related to satisfaction and quality.

Provides organizational knowledge and guidance for Grand Central/ADT/Prelude, Resolute Physician Billing, HIM, and Resolute Hospital Billing teams to facilitate decision-making.

Informs staff members of barriers, advancements, opportunities, and resource requirements to execute projects successfully.

Manages staff and allocates resources as necessary.

Manages scope, budget, schedule, and quality of projects.

Establishes a clear line of communication with clinical and business leaders.

Maintains regular communication with team members and leads weekly project team meetings.

Oversees projects and ensures issues are resolved by the team in a timely manner.

Becomes knowledgeable about UHealth’s policies, procedures, and business operations.

Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Department Specific Functions:

As an Executive Director of Epic Revenue Cycle Optimization, you will report to the Chief Business Application Officer and will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational leadership for the optimization of Revenue Cycle products including but not limited to Grand Central/ADT, Prelude, Cadence, Welcome, Referrals, Resolute Physician Billing, HIM, and Resolute Hospital Billing. Additionally, you will oversee a team consisting of managers and analysts with Epic Revenue Cycle experience. The incumbent will maintain a multi-disciplinary team in the design, implementation, workflow optimization, change management, support, and issue resolution related to Epic Revenue Cycle applications.

Oversee the design, implementation, build, testing, modification, and analysis of Revenue Cycle applications serving as the primary product point-of-content between Revenue Cycle Operations, Clinical Operations, and IT.

Oversee strategic initiatives, growth and expansion opportunities, and improving patient experiences and outcomes related to satisfaction and quality

Provide organizational knowledge and guidance for Grand Central/ADT/Prelude, Cadence/Welcome/Referrals, Resolute Physician Billing, and Resolute Hospital Billing teams to facilitate decision‐making.

Inform staff members of barriers, advancements, opportunities, and resource requirements to execute projects successfully 

Supervise the management of staff and allocate resources as necessary 

Oversee the scope, budget, schedule, and quality of projects

Establish a clear line of communication with clinical and business leaders 

Maintain regular communication with team members and lead weekly project team meetings

Oversee projects and ensure issues are resolved by the team in a timely manner 

Become knowledgeable about UHealth’s policies, procedures, and business operations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Master’s preferred.

Epic Certifications required

Minimum of 12 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization

Familiarity with processes that fall under HIM: Chart Tracking, Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, and Coding preferred

Familiarity with transcription and scanning workflows and vendors, and confidentiality and privacy guidelines preferred

Detailed knowledge of Master Patient Index (MPI) interfaces and other sources of patient information preferred

Understanding of duplicate patient management processes preferred

Experience leading large teams of individuals and the ability to manage staff effectively

Strong communication and organizational skills

Past success with large-scale projects such as other software implementations, building projects, or other key initiatives 

Able to logically examine, and interpret information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence

Ability to gain trust and establish effective relationships with team members

Ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures
