Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
+ Bachelor’s degree in institutional planning, public administration, engineering architecture, interior design, business administration, technology, or a related discipline.
+ At least 2 years of cumulative experience in facilities management including facilities maintenance and repair, utilities production and distribution, grounds maintenance, and/or custodial services in a higher education environment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ At least 5 years of cumulative experience in facilities management including facilities maintenance and repair, utilities production and distribution, grounds maintenance, and/or custodial services in a higher education environment.
+ Master’s degree in business administration, building science, engineering, community/urban planning, architecture, or interior design. Facilities Management Certifications ( CEFP , CEM , and/or IFMA ).
Job Description
Oversees the operations, maintenance, utilities production and
distribution, custodial, landscape and waste management services at the university.
Job Duties
+ Directs the activities of a specialized staff and trade functions performing facilities operations, utility production and distribution, grounds maintenance, waste management, and housekeeping services.
+ Develops and implements annual operating budgets to support academic, research, and student success activities.
+ Provides strategic direction in the development of capital replacement and renewal programs in alignment with the university capital and academic master plans.
+ Develops and implements operational practices that are based on industry best practices to deliver cost-effective and efficient facilities services to a robust campus community performing academic, research, and student support activities.
+ Develops and staffs an integrated, strategically aligned, varied, and service-oriented facilities organization. Ensures all facilities staff are afforded adequate development and training opportunities to stay abreast in their field.
+ Establish practices to ensure the university appropriately addresses applicable regulatory issues, ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations affecting the physical assets of the university, and demonstrates environmental stewardship.
+ Other assigned work not specifically enumerated of a similar kind and level.
