Position Summary
Responsible for all areas of fundraising, including short term and long term strategic planning/execution, annual gifts, donor relations, donor database management, employee development, major gifts planning, planned giving, prospect identification, prospect cultivation and face-to-face solicitation. Assists with the advancement of Med Center Health’s mission through philanthropy. Establishes priorities, sets objectives, achieves stated goals and moves multiple projects forward.
Minimum Qualifications
Work Experience
Four years of progressive fundraising experience required with a demonstrated ability to organize and implement a comprehensive fund raising program, as well as to participate personally in high level personal and corporate solicitations with a proven track record in major gifts.
Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. Master's degree preferred.
Certifications/Licensure Accreditation as a CFRE preferred. Identifies and recommends initiatives and programs for assigned area(s). Tracks and assesses the effectiveness of programs and practices and assures that goals and targets are met. Staffing and Development Hires, retains, trains and develops employees who have the appropriate level of job knowledge, skill and overall fit to the department and to the organization. Communicates job performance expectations and provides performance feedback that facilitates development. Actively addresses employee performance concerns through conflict-resolution and delivers progressive employee counseling actions appropriate to Med Center Health policies and procedures. Cultivating a Strong Workplace Actively champions employee engagement. Is well aware of employee morale and intervenes appropriately to maintain high levels of employee morale and engagement. Fosters a team atmosphere and facilitates open communications to support Med Center Health’s mission, vision and values. Encourages teamwork among direct reports; facilitates resolution of team conflicts and promotes respect between all team members and across the organization. Financial Performance Directs the department(s) financial performance and operational budget. Analyzes costs, develops programs to assure compliance with budgetary constraints and provides justifications for budget variances. Plans for the ongoing and future capital needs of the department with necessary analysis and documentation. Devises and manages programs designed to attract the maximum gift support possible to Med Center Health. Programs will include annual fund solicitation, direct mail, planned giving program, corporate and Foundation proposals and planning and soliciting major gifts. Plans, develops, and coordinates all aspects of the major gifts campaign. Develops and manages complete donor search program. Creates proposals and facilitates presentations and the production of appropriate collateral materials used in the solicitation of prospects. Maintains a contemporaneous case for support in consultation with Administrative Staff of Med Center Health and the Foundation Board. Develops and manages systems for recording, acknowledgment, stewardship and follow up of all gifts. Oversees the maintenance, management, and maximization of the donor database including donor screening, prospect cultivation and solicitation. Develops an annual comprehensive major gifts plan. Strengthens the Med Center Health major gift donor base. Actively develops and implements strategies that grow membership in the Warren Society. Grows assets, including lifetime gifts, testamentary gifts, planned, and outright gifts. Leads the effort to strengthen relationships with all major donors and prospects by providing a high level of personal engagement through ongoing and regular personal visits, events, and communications/updates. Actively seeks opportunities to speak in public setting to appropriate target audiences to promote the idea of supporting the mission of the Foundation.
