Executive Director, Security Automation and Integration

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Leader to build and head our Security Automation and Integration team. This role is pivotal in driving the integration of diverse cybersecurity platforms and automating processes to enhance our security posture, quickly identify and respond to cyber events leveraging automation, and drive efficiency. Further, responsibilities include overall development and deployment of an enterprise cyber risk engine to guide prioritize cyber actions. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and work experience related to software development and delivery, system integration through architected API layer, applying AI/ML to drive deeper analytics and automation, proven leadership skills, and a strategic vision for cybersecurity detection, automation and data engineering. Key Functions and Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategy: · Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for cybersecurity platform integration and automation that aligns to overall security strategy, reference architecture and targeted outcomes. · Build, lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of cybersecurity and developer professionals. · Collaborate with senior leadership to align security initiatives with business objectives and risk reduction efforts. Platform Integration & Automation: · Responsible for the integration of critical, enterprise cybersecurity tools and platforms spanning key security domains that includes endpoint security, data discovery and protection, network access and security, vulnerability and attack surface scanning to deliver increased insights and faster responses to threats. · Develop and implement enterprise cyber risk engine leveraging security scanning telemetry, asset management, and key risk indicators to guide prioritized risk reduction efforts. · Partner to define security data model and data lake strategy as foundational element to enterprise cyber risk engine. · Align integration efforts to overall security reference architecture leveraging consistent, standard design patterns, APIs, and development best practices including secure coding. · Evaluate and select appropriate integration technologies and methodologies, including build versus buy decisions. Automation & Analytics: · Enhance incident response capabilities through automated threat detection and response mechanisms. · Design, implement, and maintain security automation workflows using tools like SOAR, RPA, and standard API integration. · Identify opportunities to automate security processes to increase efficiencies, drive self-service where possible and deliver outcomes faster. · Experience building ML/AI models using common methods. · Work experience building predictive models specific to anomaly detection, identifying unusual instances, behaviors, and patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed. · Works cross functionally with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to understand, implement, refine, and design machine learning and other algorithms. · Define and maintain governance process for risk engine algorithms and develop quality assurance process to drive high confidence output. Collaboration and Communication: · Work closely with Cyber Defense, Risk Management, technology and development organizations, and other relevant teams to ensure requirements and targeted outcomes align to stakeholder needs. · Communicate complex technical and security concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively. · Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. · At least 10 years of leadership experience in software development, delivery, and automation with emphasis on cybersecurity. · Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing high-performing DevOps teams. · Experience directing and leading offshore development personnel. · Strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity platforms, integration techniques, and automation methods. · Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, NDR, EDR, XDR and other relevant security technologies and platforms. · Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR). · Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels. **Pay Range** The typical pay range for this role is: $175,100.00 - $334,750.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
