Description

The Goizueta Business School is in search of an Executive Director of Veteran's Initiatives who will be responsible for overseeing and advancing initiatives that support veteran and military-affiliated students, faculty, and staff. This role involves strategic planning, management, and advocacy across the university, with a particular focus on the Master's in Business for Veterans program, in Goizueta Business School, and other veteran-related and leadership-related initiatives.

 

The Executive Director will work closely with Goizueta Business School and Emory University leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure that veterans and military-affiliated individuals have the resources, support, and opportunities needed to succeed. Position reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Graduate Programs at Goizueta Business School.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the administration of the Master's in Business for Veterans (MBV) program in Goizueta Business School. Responsible for the strategic planning, budget development and management, and execution of the MBV Program. Supervises the MBV Program staff and all MBV veteran student activities. Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy for veteran and military affairs across the university, aligning with the institution's mission and goals. Leads co-curricular leadership programs (Leadership Reaction Course) and supports other leadership development initiatives in the business school. Participates in and helps facilitate recruiting activities to attract veteran and active-duty students to the MBV and other programs in the Business School and the University. Advises the Provost and Dean of the Business School on Veterans Affairs and ensures compliance with all VA regulations and policies. Advocates for and supports the needs of veteran and military-affiliated students, including academic advising, career services, and mental health resources. Serves as the primary liaison between the university and external stakeholders, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, veteran service organizations, military installations and other related organizations. Works with university and business school leadership to develop and implement policies that support the recruitment, retention, and success of veteran and military-affiliated students. Provides leadership and support for faculty and staff who are veterans or who work with veteran students, including professional development opportunities and resource sharing. Ensures accurate reporting of all veteran and military-related data and maintain accountability for the success and well-being of the veteran community at the university. Works to cultivate donors and raise resources for Veteran Student Support funds. Assists in the business school's and university's reputations in the veteran space through active participation marketing, recruiting, and other relevant outreach activities. Teaching responsibilities may be provided as desired with a focus on leadership courses in Goizueta Business School.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree and 20 years of military experience, including senior executive leadership experience. Proven project management skills and expertise in developing, managing, and delivering military leadership programs. Experience in budget management and planning.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
