Location: Farmingdale, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Fri Sep 6 2024 Job Description: The Executive Director of the Department of College/High School Programs oversees various academic programs for populations inclusive of high school students and retired, "lifelong" learners. The Executive Director reports to the Senior Vice President/Chief Academic Officer. Serve as Director of the UHS Program University in the High School (UHS) is Farmingdale State College's concurrent enrollment program. Through UHS, FSC has partnerships with over 100 high schools, and provides over 6,000 high school students with college credit each year. UHS generates over $1,000,000 annually. FSC is the only SUNY 4-year school with National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships accredited status. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the UHS Program, including: + Supervise UHS staff. + Responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining activities for UHS. + Oversee UHS budget. + Keep apprised of and ensure compliance with SUNY and FSC policies. + Develop new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with high schools. + Represent FSC and serve as liaison to FSC at external advisory boards, special events, external review meetings (i.e. State Education visits to high schools, high school advisory boards). + Visit partner high schools to meet with high school administrators and lead presentations about FSC/UHS. + Keep apprised of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) Standards and ensure FSC's compliance with Accreditation Standards, including oversight of 40+ FSC part-time faculty liaisons. + Oversee and submit FSC application for reaccreditation; serve as primary point of contact to NACEP (multi-year effort). + Act as liaison to FSC departments. + Stay up to date with recent research and best practices in the field of early college programs, dual/concurrent enrollment, and engage in research opportunities when practical/available/possible. Principal Investigator, oversee existing grant partnerships (i.e., Freeport and Yonkers Smart Scholars, Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-Tech)) Smart Scholars and P-Tech are New York State early college high school initiatives designed to provide students who are traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education with opportunities to accelerate their completion of their high school studies while earning transferable college credits, and transition to college. Students receive additional academic support. These grants generate approximately $450,000 to FSC annually. The Director is responsible for overseeing existing grant partnerships, including: + Supervise grant staff, including year-round and seasonal staff. + Responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining activities for grants. + Oversee Smart Scholars and P-TECH grants budget. + Serve as liaison between FSC and external partner schools. + Attend grant partner meetings/Advisory Boards. Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) and Auditing Program for Seniors ILR and the auditing program provides the local retirement community with enriching activities and learning opportunities. There are currently approximately 150 senior citizens participating in regularly scheduled lectures, workshops, courses, and seasonal events and tours. The Director is responsible for overseeing the ILR/Auditing Program, including: + Supervise staff. + Oversee ILR budget. Oversee ILR programing for workshops, lectures, and trips: + Recruit lecturers and workshop leaders. + Oversee scheduling for workshops, lectures, and trips. Oversee Auditing program for Seniors: + Act as liaison to FSC departments. + Keep apprised of and ensure compliance with SUNY and FSC policies. This title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but instead receive renewable term appointments. Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Earned Master's degree in related field. + A minimum of 8 years of experience with dual and concurrent enrollment programs, and/or experience with K-16 initiatives. + Experience with program planning, budgets. + Demonstrated success working with a team to achieve institutional goals. + Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, leadership, decision- making, critical thinking skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Earned doctorate degree in related field. + Experience working with college faculty. + Experience with specialized accreditation.
