Temple University's Klein College is searching for an Executive Director of Finance & Administration.

Job Summary\:

The Executive Director for Finance and Administration reports to the Dean of Klein College, and functions as a senior member of the Dean's leadership team. The Executive Director is a visible and influential leader within the college and at Temple University, with responsibilities for all financial matters, including an operating budget of $34 million. Directs college-wide administrative and financial operations with oversight of finances, administration, facilities, operations, computing and information technology, and human resources. As such, the Executive Director needs to have an interest and commitment to the academic, research and clinical mission of the college.

The Executive Director represents the Dean and serves as a spokesperson for Klein College to the executive and financial levels of the University. Manages capital planning, funding priorities, financial analysis and managerial oversight responsibility for maintaining and ensuring the College's solid financial position. The Executive Director will work with leaders across the college and other university offices including the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Office of the Provost, the Office of Institutional Advancement and Human Resources.

Other responsibilities include developing, implementing, maintaining and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures; establishing budget projections and financial strategic planning documents for the Provost's Office; working with the Dean and senior staff on resource allocation; and presenting quarterly budget reports; personnel administration, including hiring and compensation related matters.

As a member of the Dean’s staff, the Executive Director attends and is an active participant in all staff meetings and may be called upon to present progress and status reports to the staff. Receives from, provides feedback to and cooperates fully with other staff members. Additionally, the Executive Director may be designated and/or appointed as a contributing member to various college committees, University-wide committees and/or taskforces and may represent the Dean, the Vice Dean or Klein management at Temple University/Klein College oriented community events, recruiting venues and/or grant/research sponsor’s offices. The Executive Director frequently communicates with and is accountable for maintaining positive working relations and contacts with

Required Education & Experience\:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at seven (7) years of directly related experience, including, supervisory and leadership experience; business and financial planning, and business management experience. Strong finance and accounting skills, including budget development and management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred\:

MBA.

Required Skills & Abilities\:

Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite software programs. Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to work with large financial data sets. Excellent communication, negotiation and team management skills. Demonstrated interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work well with all levels of University personnel. Demonstrated problem solving skills, with the ability to take the initiative to resolve issues in a creative manner. Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and handle challenging situations with tact.

Preferred\:

Experience in an academic institution. Experience with grant and contract management.
