Applications may be rejected if incomplete.* Minimum Qualifications The Executive Director for Campus Health & Wellness will lead the campus in creating a culture of wellness and provide space for the campus community to learn and practice habits of a healthy lifestyle. The Executive Director will provide administrative oversight for Campus Health & Wellness Services, including Health Services, Counseling Services, and Health and Wellness Promotion. Additionally, the Executive Director will coordinate all healthcare operations and serve as the chief patient care provider. The Executive Director will report directly to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor, Dean of Students and serve as a member of the Student Development Leadership Team. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Institutional and Divisional Leadership · Provide leadership, vision, direction, and management of administrative aspects of campus health and wellness services that aligns with institutional goals and student needs, including leading and facilitating the transition to an integrated model of campus health and wellness; · Assess resource needs and develop budget recommendations; oversee acquisition and maintenance of technology and capital equipment; monitor physical facilities; obtain and oversee use of grant funding for programs; · Organize an ongoing strategic planning and assessment process for campus health and wellness services; · Give direction to the efforts of Counseling Services, Health Services, and Health & Wellness Promotion in developing programs, workshops, training sessions, and classroom presentations; oversee and direct marketing efforts to reach the broadest audience; oversee and maintain development and maintenance of the center webpage; · Monitor trends in college health policy and practice regionally and nationally, and integrate best practices and innovative approaches as appropriate; · Ensure compliance with relevant federal and state laws; serve as knowledgeable resource for regulatory, statutory, and licensing requirements and accreditation standards; · Serve on the leadership team for Student Development; establish close collaborations with campus partners; serve on relevant committees within and outside of Student Affairs 2. Clinical Oversight · Maintain a culture of intentional collaboration with the multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure excellent care and high satisfaction; · Provide professional healthcare services to students, faculty, and staff; makes independent nursing assessments, diagnoses and evaluations in a clinical ambulatory care setting regarding injuries and illnesses and provides first aid, emergency care or crisis intervention to students, faculty, and staff in accordance with state and nursing laws and regulations, and protocols; performs emergency and advanced-level protocol on certain medical conditions; refers complex medical problems to emergency services or an appropriate healthcare provider; · Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention and provide referrals for cost-effective, appropriate care; order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions, including blood pressure, tuberculosis, vision, vital signs, and in-house lab tests; administer immunizations/vaccines; document patient medical information, condition, treatments, advice, and referrals in electronic medical record; · Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards while promoting evidence-based practices in patient care; · Allocate the pharmaceutical, laboratory, and medical supplies budget; inventory and order clinical medical supplies; participate in cleaning and organizing clinic area; · Within a scope of practice and state laws, prescribe and administer medications; 3. Communication and interdisciplinary collaboration · Partner with academic departments to create experiential learning opportunities for students, including internships, practicum experiences, and service-learning projects; · Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance health and wellness education and practice; · Serve as an advocate for health and wellness at the institutional level, ensuring that student voices are included; · Engage with community partners to enhance the scope and reach of campus health and wellness services. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Characteristics: · Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses in Louisiana · Current, valid cardiopulmonary and first aid certification · Five years of experience in an ambulatory care of student health services environment · Knowledge of local, regional and national issues, trends, and best practice standards in primary health care, health promotion and prevention, mental health, and managed care, as well as of national certification and accreditation requirements · Genuine appreciation for student development theory and a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to student health; · Strong commitment to serving, and experience with, effective outreach and communication with students and families, faculty, staff, and community partners; · Strong consultation skills with particular ability to assess situations and recommend appropriate responses, ability to perform under stress when facing unusual or emergency situations; Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Characteristics: · Master’s degree from accredited Nursing Program · Active board certification as an NP in area of clinical practice · Active DEA license or ability to apply for such prior to hire · Current, valid LA NP license · Progressive experience, including administrative experience, in a higher education health/mental health setting · Certifications in mental health, wellness, or public health Highly Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Characteristics · Certification as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or willingness to obtain Required Attachments · Cover Letter indicating why you are a good fit for the position and LSU Shreveport · Detailed resume listing relevant qualifications and experience · Names and contact information of three references Benefits for unclassified employees are determined by the individual hiring authority.
