THE JOB:

The Executive Director of Hospitality Development, working closely with the VP of Hospitality Development, will oversee project management for MGM Resorts International’s hospitality initiatives. This hands-on role involves executing the full development process for domestic venues and select international resorts. The Executive Director will support MGMRI’s portfolio strategy by conducting research, networking, and identifying potential operating partnerships. Additionally, they will collaborate in the master planning process alongside the SVP and VP of Hospitality Development, other Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Property Presidents. All responsibilities align with MGM Resorts’ policies, practices, and procedures.



THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Provides hands-on support in creating, developing, and implementing new venue concepts, including re-brandings and partnerships (e.g., licenses, management agreements) under the direction of the SVP and VP of Hospitality Development.

Prepares and presents reports to assist in reviewing and selecting new concepts, using master planning data, industry trends, and internal standards from the Hospitality Center of Excellence (COE).

Maintains detailed reporting on capital investment projects aligned with MGMRI’s operational goals, industry trends, customer data, and strategic vision.

Assists the SVP and VP in identifying, securing, and managing third-party partnerships for future development projects.

Provides creative, functional, and technical input throughout the design-development process to ensure all new and re-branded concepts meet company brand standards.

Plays a key role in pre-opening efforts by preparing pro-forma financial models and offering operational and strategic support to ensure smooth execution.



THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, hospitality leadership or another related field

4+ years of prior relevant experience in the direction and management of development projects in the hospitality industry.

Ability to work effectively across organizational lines and establish credibility with operating leaders.

In-depth knowledge of hospitality operations, F&B business models, change management, and business strategy.

Strong leadership abilities with sound judgment and experience in improving operational performance efficiently.

Excels in multi-tasking and balancing priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, and customer service skills.

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills with a focus on quality and detail.
