**Job ID Number** R4620 **Employment Type** Full time **Worksite Flexibility** Onsite **Job Summary** As the Executive Director of Scholar and Donor Services, you will manage the corporation’s efforts to secure private financial contributions. This positions requires up to 20% travel nationally. **Job Description** CAI is seeking a Executive Director of Scholar and Donor Services to lead the fundraising efforts for our client, a non-profit organization based in Evanston, Illinois. This is an onsite position and is fulltime, salaried. **Due to our end client, candidates must be able to work in the US without a need for sponsorship now or in the future.** Our client is seeking an executive management level professional who will report directly to the President of the corporation. This individual will manage the corporation’s efforts to secure private financial contributions, by conducting an inaugural multi-million-dollar fundraising campaign. In addition, this individual will implement baseline annual fundraising practices and build a robust development team over time. As part of a small team that covers the entire United States, this individual will be expected to travel approximately 20% of the year and must be comfortable communicating with a variety of contacts including an identified donor base and corporate and foundation executives. This individual must have an outgoing and energetic personality, positive attitude, strong work ethic, solid communication skills (both oral and written), and be self-motivated, well-organized, and work well both independently and with others in teams. The training for this position will be on the job and provided by upper management and other corporate professionals **What You’ll Do** + Initiate dialogue and cultivate ongoing relationships with potential donors + Educate potential donors about the corporation’s mission and initiate requests for financial support to grow and expand the corporation’s mission + Successfully complete the inaugural fundraising campaign + Conduct internal analysis and report to upper management, officers, and Board of Directors concerning developments regarding fundraising activities and campaign status + Work directly with Sponsor Services team to enhance prospecting efforts + Extensive use of a customized Salesforce (CRM) database in addition to standard PC applications + Recommend and help implement procedural improvements/efficiencies + Implement development growth plan and supervise three initial full-time fundraising professionals and one vendor/contractor database coordinator. + Some general administrative duties; including data input, word processing, proofing documents, etc. + Various other duties as assigned by the President, other corporate officers, Board of Directors, and upper management of the corporation. **What You’ll Need** Required: + Bachelor’s degree, required; advanced degree is a plus + The ideal candidate should have at least five years of practical related fundraising experience + 2 years of management experience including hiring, performance management and termination + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Strong project management and organizational skills + Familiarity with philanthropic and fundraising best practices + Must be a collaborative team player who enjoys working with others + Thorough knowledge and experience working with Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat required + Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software – specifically, Salesforce + Strong corporate, private foundation, and college awareness; marketing oriented; professional in demeanor and presentation + Commitment to academic excellence + High energy with business-like communicator + Familiar with structured environments and deadlines + Ability to effectively present ideas in detail at the board room level + Strong commitment to the highest ethical business practices. + The training for this position will be on the job and provided by upper management and other corporate professionals Preferred: + Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) is highly preferred + Knowledge of how to apply marketing and financial analysis techniques is extremely desirable + Knowledge of high school and collegiate educational environments is preferred **Physical Demands** + Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards + Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. + Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor **Compensation:** The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience.
