This role is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) to ensure excellence in delivery of Enterprise projects and realization of project benefits. A significant focus is placed on continuous improvement, aimed at streamlining the PMLC to reduce the cycle time from project initiation to closure while enhancing overall project delivery outcomes. Ensure Project Managers are maintaining accountability and compliance with standardization and governance requirements. Partner in hiring and developing strong project managers. Manage contracts with Project Management staffing firms and targeted resources required for project delivery. Participate in Business Process Engineering (BPE) and Change Management Communities of Practice.
**Gate Reviews and Reporting**
+ Drive the organization's continuous project planning process, ensuring that Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) gates are well-established and effectively managed, including facilitating ELT Gate Reviews and collaborating with Project Leaders to ensure they are fully prepared to discuss key project milestones and decision points
+ Coordinate, centralize and drive discussions for an enterprise list of future projects to be considered and prioritized
+ Establish and maintain centralized enterprise-level project reporting, in close collaboration with the finance leaders, at weekly, monthly, and quarterly intervals, including comprehensive project status, health and financials to the ELT
+ Ensure post project benefit realization and run costs are tracked, understood and reported to stakeholders and ELT
**Project Management and Delivery**
+ Maintain project management standards, governance and reporting requirements and ensure compliance and consistent execution across the portfolio
+ Ensure adherence to financial management best practices and accurate tracking of project budgets, forecasts, and overall financial performance
+ Facilitate ongoing attention to stakeholder buy-in, communication mechanisms and actions to mitigate/respond to risk throughout project life cycle
+ Build and sustain positive relationships within Project Delivery team and across the Enterprise PMO, reinforcing a positive environment of collaboration and respect
+ Troubleshoot resolution of issues escalated by project leaders, renegotiating project needs and confirming appropriate realignment with expectations, budgets, strategy, etc.
**People Leadership, Development and Augmentation**
+ Partner in selection and hiring of highly skilled project managers
+ Coach and foster growth in project team members
+ Establish clear performance expectations and provide constructive performance feedback and recognition
+ Directly manage the PMCoE Coach and the Tech Support Specialist
+ Provide leadership and professional development for dotted-line PMs, helping them excel through the PMLC process
+ Facilitate milestone project performance discussions – status, mid-project reviews, postmortems – to gather and share best practices and identify improvement opportunities
+ Capitalize on talents, passions and experience of self/others
+ Empower others to take calculated risks and execute responsibilities and beyond
+ Reinforce and create opportunities to facilitate ongoing learning
+ Develop and execute preferred provider list and process for staffing firms, resulting in high quality project management resources at a competitive price
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of related business experience
+ Five years of management experience in project management capacity
+ Proven track record of Financial and Risk Management
+ Strong leadership competence, with proven skills in managing change
+ Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to build consensus and develop solid relationships
+ Experience with cultural, organizational, technology and business process changes efforts
+ Proven communication skills; both written and verbal with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management
+ Experience in Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint or similar PPM tool
The salary range for this role is the following in Lake Forest, Illinois:
$133,593.00 - $232,416.00 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus. We understand that compensation is an important factor when considering a new opportunity, and we strive to provide a competitive salary within the market.
