ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

Performs Executive Driver services for authorized NASA personnel to official appointments/events within the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and managing their driver schedule for authorized NASA HQ customer.Driver services may be required for special events outside of business hours and should be pre-approved.Coordinates schedules and manages driving services to ensure on time arrivals and departures.Monitors the performance of Government vehicles and ensure proper maintenance.Transports vehicles to Government-approved garages for oil and fluid changes, preventive maintenance, and repairs as needed.Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interiors and exteriors.Utilizes the Government credit card provided for the purchase of gasoline.Maintains accurate records and provides all gasoline receipts to the COR for reimbursement and auditing purposes.Adheres to all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and NASA policies while operating the vehicles. Maintains vehicle licensing, registration, and insurance requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Possess a valid Driver's LicenseMaintain a professional appearancePass an annual physicalPass an approved (by the COR) defensive driving course every two yearsPass a pre-employment drug test and physicalHave a minimum of five years of experience as an executive driver or chauffeurBe subject to an initial 30-day probationary evaluation periodWithin the last three years have maintained a clean driving record, which means: no felony convictions for moving violations arising out of the operation of a motor vehicle; no misdemeanor convictions for moving violations arising out of the operation of a motor vehicle which would be punishable by imprisonment; no conviction for Driving Under the Influence (DUI); no conviction for reckless driving and no more than one conviction for a speeding violation for traveling ten miles or more in excess of the legal speed limitNever have been convicted of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)Within the last three years, have had no more than one driver’s license at the same time, nor had any driver’s license suspended, revoked or canceledNever have been found liable by a court in a civil action for damages arising out of the negligent use of a motor vehicle which resulted in injury or death to another person

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

 

 

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.
