Department Overview
Firmwide Strategy (“FWS”) works with the Executive Office and senior business leadership to set and execute key strategic priorities for the firm. On behalf of the entire firm, FWS:
Leads strategic transactions including mergers & acquisitions, divestments, strategic investments, and partnershipsDevelops, evaluates, and executes strategic plans for new and existing businesses and growth initiativesRole Description
The role will provide exposure to the breadth and complexity of activities at a global financial firm with multiple market-leading businesses, and will require sustained interaction with senior business and firm leadership. In this role, the individual will partner with the various businesses at Goldman Sachs to:
Support strategic M&A and divestments through all phases of the deal lifecycle (target identification, due diligence, M&A modeling, deal management) Negotiate and execute strategic investments in the fintech and financial services eco-system Develop and execute business plans for new and existing strategic organic initiatives for the firmFWS has a proven track record as a gateway to a number of attractive career paths. Past team members were promoted to leadership positions within the team, advanced to investing, management, and business strategy positions inside and outside Goldman Sachs, and in some cases transitioned to strategy, investing and management roles beyond financial services.
Desired Experience/Skills
3-5 years of Investment Banking, corporate development or similar experience Strong financial modelling skills, with a high level of Excel proficiencyExcellent written and verbal communication Confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior firm leadershipHighly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-throughAbility to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlinesStrong knowledge of and interest in the financial services industry Ability to think strategically and analytically, and to review and synthesize information and form independent judgementsAbility to think through and solve critical financial and strategic challenges, as well as perform macroeconomic forecasting and individual stock analysisSalary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
