ROLE DESCRIPTION
Investor Relations works closely with C-suite executives to shape the firm’s external engagement strategy (including with equity and debt investors, research analysts, rating agencies, and ESG-focused stakeholders). Investor Relations also partners with key internal constituents on strategic planning, competitive positioning, and capital and resource managementThis is a unique position that allows candidates to develop valuation and modelling skillsets, as well as a broader markets perspective, while also gaining exposure to senior management and external stakeholders The role will provide exposure to the breadth and complexity of activities at Goldman Sachs, and will require sustained interaction with senior business and firm leadershipOn any given day, work could include supporting transformational growth initiatives for the firm, communicating strategy to key stakeholders, assessing investment opportunities, preparing senior leadership for public events, and moreEquity and Debt Investor Relations
Help execute the firm’s quarterly Earnings process, including crafting presentation decks, Earnings-related products including financial models that focus on earnings, balance sheet metrics and valuation, collaborating with internal stakeholders to prepare materials for management preps, the Earnings Townhall and Earnings call as well as coverage of peer Earnings reportingEvaluate GS and global competitors from an investment and strategic perspective, both quantitatively and qualitativelyBuild and maintain financial models focusing on earnings, balance sheet metrics and valuationDevelop specific expertise on multiple competitors, closely monitoring news, performance and investor presentations and proactively sharing information with the Investor Relations team and senior managementResearch and create regular strategic analyses for business leadership addressing relevant market topics including valuation, returns, volatility, business performance, consensus expectations, earnings takeaways, et ceteraPrepare presentation materials for equity research conferences, senior business managers and investorsParticipate in firmwide due diligence with key business managers to stay abreast of company specific and industry trendsQUALIFICATIONS
4-5 years’ experience in finance, markets, treasury, research or riskInvestment Banking associate and experience in capital markets and/or financial institutions a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to self-direct and manage projects, interact and build relationships across the firm at different levels of seniorityHighly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-throughAbility to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlinesAbility to think strategically and analytically, and to review and synthesize information and form independent judgements© The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., 2023. Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
