ROLE DESCRIPTION

Investor Relations works closely with C-suite executives to shape the firm’s external engagement strategy (including with equity and debt investors, research analysts, rating agencies). Investor Relations also partners with key internal constituents on strategic planning, competitive positioning, and capital and resource managementThis is a unique position that allows candidates to develop valuation and modelling skillsets, as well as a broader markets perspective, while also gaining exposure to senior management and external stakeholdersThe role will provide exposure to the breadth and complexity of activities at Goldman Sachs, and will require sustained interaction with senior business and firm leadershipOn any given day, work could include supporting transformational growth initiatives for the firm, communicating strategy to key stakeholders, assessing investment opportunities, preparing senior leadership for public events, and more

Equity and Debt Investor Relations 

Manage the firm’s quarterly Earnings process, including writing and reviewing scripts and presentation decks, oversight of Earnings-related products including financial models that focus on earnings, balance sheet metrics and valuation, collaborating with internal stakeholders to prepare materials for management preps, the Earnings Townhall and Earnings call as well as coverage of peer Earnings reportingWork with equity and debt investor relations team to effectively manage relationships with key constituents including GS senior management, sell-side research analysts and buy-side investors Help drive strategic messaging for the firm and be responsible to effectively communicate the firm’s strategy to our constituentsEvaluate GS and peers from an investment perspective by performing fundamental and valuation analyses and closely monitoring industry trends around strategic initiatives, business mix and external messagingHelp prepare scripts and talking points for senior management for research conferences, senior business managers, and investor meetingsCollaborate in weekly analysis for business leaders that addresses topics including valuation, returns, volatility, detailed consensus expectations, business mix, et ceteraCreate presentation materials for equity research conferences, senior business managers and investorsCoordinate with internal teams across the firm to create talking points and analytics on market or business-related issuesParticipate in firmwide due diligence with key business managers to stay abreast of company specific and industry trends

Rating Agencies

Work with rating agency team to effectively manage relationships with all major rating agenciesPerform and present fundamental credit analysis on Goldman Sachs and its peer group and closely monitor industry trends, balance sheet strength, strategic initiatives, business mix, external messaging and credit ratingsEvaluate and formulate informed views on GS and peer credit ratings relative to fundamental analytics and market-based ratings 

QUALIFICATIONS 

7+ years’ experience in finance, markets,, treasury, research or riskInvestment Banking or other experience in financial institutions and/or capital markets a plusAbility to analyze, evaluate, form independent judgments and think creatively Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to self-direct and manage projects, interact and build relationships across the firm at different levels of seniorityStrong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills Broad awareness of current events, industry trends and regulatory environment

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
