Executive Producer, Weekend Edition

Bloomberg Media is expanding its Weekend Edition offerings and looking for an experienced Executive Producer to develop and lead a new flagship show hosted by Mishal Husain. The show will explore the intersections of global business, politics, life and culture and extend across Bloomberg’s podcast, digital, video and event platforms.
The Executive Producer will lead creative development and serve as the managing editor, working closely with Mishal Husain and the Weekend Edition team and providing hands-on day-to-day editorial and production guidance and direction. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit; a keen eye for intriguing and consequential stories and people; and the vision, flexibility and determination required to invent and build a groundbreaking new franchise.
We'll trust you to:Lead creative development and ongoing production for a new flagship show (or slate of shows) for Bloomberg’s Weekend Edition, hosted by Mishal HusainHelp bring in high-profile, globally relevant and fascinating interview guests for wide-ranging and surprising conversations, working alongside the host and our central booking teamDirect a production team working on episodes day-to-day: provide notes and direction on everything from guest and show ideas to fact checking, episode assembly and sound designEnsure that the show is truly global in perspective and editorially and strategically aligned with Bloomberg’s Weekend Edition, liaising with editors on print/digital elements such as edited Q and As and essaysWork with audio, video and text components, collaborating with diverse teams within Bloomberg, including events, and ensuring social media presenceAdvise on studio and production best practices and workflowsCommunicate on upcoming programming across the newsroom and work closely on distribution plans across all media platformsYou'll need to have:Extensive experience working in a newsroom environment on projects with rigorous journalistic ethicsExcellent business, political and cultural news judgement and a sharp editorial earExperience with field, remote and in-studio productionExperience working and collaborating across media platforms (some combination of podcast, video, broadcast, print/digital)Experience working internationally — and producing for a global audience — is preferredExperience launching a new series successfully in a crowded media landscape would be ideal Salary Range = 170000 - 195000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
