Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Executive Producer with exceptional editorial judgment, unwavering commitment to journalistic excellence, and a proven ability to lead and inspire teams. This role requires a dynamic production leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes news environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Oversee the overall vision, content strategy, and day-to-day operations of Weekend Nightly News, including breaking news specials and additional weekend programming as neededEnsure the show maintains a sharp editorial focus and upholds the highest standards of journalismReview and edit story pitches, scripts, and show copy with a critical eye for accuracy and impactCoordinate across news desks and platforms to ensure seamless coverageProvide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to the production teamWork closely with anchors to enhance storytelling and presentationCollaborate with the Executive Producer of the weekday show to maintain consistent programming across all seven days; serve as a fill-in on weekdays when necessaryOversee and supervise the control room during broadcasts, breaking news specials, and additional weekend programming as neededChampion bold, innovative ideas that drive audience engagementReport directly to the EVP, News Programming

QualificationsMinimum 10 years of experience in news, preferably at the national network levelAt least 3 years of experience managing a team with a track record of strong leadership and talent developmentA Bachelor’s degreeDemonstrated success in producing high-quality broadcasts and driving audience growthExceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across senior executives, show producers, bureau chiefs, correspondents, and production teamsStrong leadership abilities, deep production expertise, and excellent broadcast writing skillsMust be willing to work in-office Wednesday–Sunday in New York, NYAvailability to work evenings, holidays, and during breaking news events as needed

Additional Requirements:

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
