Executive Protection Program Manager

Discord is looking for an Executive Protection Program Manager to oversee and manage our Executive Protection and Event Security programs. The Program Manager will oversee the operations of the Executive Protection team, ensuring high levels of service and professionalism. This individual will also serve as Discord’s Event Security specialist, ensuring the safety of employees and guests at Discord events. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience building programs and working in a dynamic startup environment. The Executive Protection Program Manager is a key member of the Corporate Security team and will bring initiative, creativity, and a customer service attitude to the team.  

What you’ll be doing

Manage Discord’s Executive Protection program, and oversee the operations of the contract Executive Protection team, maintain contractor relationships, coordinate logistics, develop policy, and manage relationships with executives.  Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop security strategies and policies for the protection of Discord executives and high risk employees. Maintain oversight of the Executive Protection budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring that Discord resources are spent appropriately. Analyze EP expenditures and prepare presentations for senior leadership. Working with the Marketing Team, develop and oversee event security plans tailored to the event being supported, allowing Discord employees, partners, and users to focus on conducting business in a safe and supportive environment. Plan, implement, and manage security preparedness and emergency protocols for Discord events. Conduct QAQC and process improvement on EP operations and the program as a whole, ensuring consistent high levels of service.  Working with an ESOC, track, evaluate and address threats to Discord executives.  Working with Administrative Business Partners, plan and coordinate logistics for executive business and personal travel. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Corporate Security Senior Manager.

What you should have

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education / experience. 10+ years of experience working in executive protection, law enforcement, military or other protection related fields. Bonus if you have experience working in Event Security as well.  Extensive experience working on Executive Protection teams, conducting threat assessments, risk mitigation, security planning, and residential security.  Extensive experience tracking, managing, analyzing and auditing security budgets, expenditures and contracts Experience presenting spend analysis to senior leadership. Extensive experience working with senior executives and their families in both professional and personal settings. Experience creating detailed security plans for domestic and international travel and events. Comfort and experience working in an environment with multiple reporting structures. Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders internal and external to Discord, such as Executive Business Partners, Events / Marketing Teams, law enforcement, and government agencies.  Attitude of customer service, open-mindedness, collaboration, flexibility, and initiative.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $167,000 to $184,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
