Executive Protection Security Officer

We are seeking an Executive Protection Security Officer to join our Global Security team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in New York, NY. This is a full time, onsite, permanent role.

This individual will report into the Executive Protections Operations Manager to provide security and safety within the Corporate Headquarters of our organization, located in midtown Manhattan. This position requires prior experience in law enforcement, or other private security protective program.

Emphasis will be given to provide armed protection on the executive floor and other floors of our building, including the Café, and on occasion exterior perimeter, basement, building lobby and other locations on the property.

Protection services may be required for corporate on-site and local off-site events for the Executive Committee, and other company officials. Responsibilities may also include escorting dignitaries, public officials, industry executives and other individuals visiting the headquarters office.

Emphasis will be given to coordinating protection services with the company’s Global Security Department, Global Security Operations Center, and building security program to work as one cohesive group in providing protection for the property.

Candidates should have prior law enforcement experience, or related corporate security experience as outlined above.

We will count on you to:

Provide for the general security of the executive floor, maintaining a security presence on the floor and screening all guests and visitors.Work in conjunction with the executive receptionists in welcoming guests and providing escorts for VIP’s to executive meetings.Maintain surveillance of security CCTV cameras on the executive floor to keep surveillance of activity on the floor and identify and potential unwanted visitors or guests.Review visitation lists and scheduled meetings to be aware of visitors and employees who have appointments with executives of the company.Conduct periodic patrols of the floor to provide for a security omnipresence.Be knowledgeable of all security equipment on the floor such as CCTV systems, card Readers, duress alarms (and their locations).Respond to any duress alarm notifications and provide required security support.Learn and be knowledgeable of all life safety equipment on the floor such as the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), first aid kits, fire extinguishers, evacuation routes.Become part of the 44th floor’s Fire Warden Team.Obtain AED certification (provided by the company) if required.Be knowledgeable of the building Fire & Life Safety program and work in conjunction with the building Fire Safety Director and his/her staff.Assist in any potential evacuations of the floor due to fire safety, or other building Emergency Action Plans (EAP) such as in building relocations due to environmental conditions, bomb threats, suspicious persons, protests, or other security concern.Perform other security related functions for the Global Security Department when not providing security on the executive floor or the Café such as prepare incident reports, conduct internal investigations, conduct patrols of protected spaces, & maintain posts for events on premises.

What you need to have:

A minimum of 10 years in a Law Enforcement capacity preferred, which can be supplemented with corporate security experienceBe a United States Citizen and have a valid driver’s license with a clear record.At least 3 years of experience providing protection practices.Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is required.The ability to work long shifts and stand for 8-10 hours at a fixed post.Law enforcement, military, government or certified civilian security experience.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $62,600 to $125,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
