THE JOB:
The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen team and operations. They help lead the team to achieve business goals, manage recipes, inventory, and supplies, oversee staff performance, scheduling, and training, and execute plans from the food and beverage leadership. Additionally, they ensure the kitchen meet standards and that customers have a great dining experience, all while adhering to company policies and procedures.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Train the kitchen staff: Teach master cooks, cooks, pantry workers, and helpers how to do their jobs correctly.Manage food orders: Make sure orders for ingredients are handled properly and stored in the right place.Label food properly: Label and date all food to keep it safe and clean.Know the basics: Be familiar with preparing essential sauces, stocks, and soups.Ensure high food quality: Make sure the food is always of top quality, and fix any problems if it’s not.Communicate well: Work with management and service staff to handle any issues or special requests from guests or employees.Assist with kitchen supplies: Help the Executive Chef manage buying, receiving, and keeping track of kitchen items.Handle the kitchen schedule: Organize the work schedule for the kitchen staff.Help set kitchen goals: Work with the Executive Chef to set goals that improve profits, food quality, and staff performance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

At least 2 years of experience in a high volume restaurant production.At least 2 years of culinary management experience.Knowledge of fast casual, quick service.Strong leadership and team management skills.Ability to be flexible with schedulingUnderstands budgeting and cost control.Skilled in culinary techniques and creating menus.Exceptional communication skills.Strong problem-solving abilities.Has a willingness to actively engage in the development and growth of others.Takes pride in their work and is self- motivated.Enjoys working with a team to promote a collaborative environment.

Pay Range:

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum - Maximum

$57,700.00 - $96,200.00

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s incentive plan.
