Summary About the Position: This position is with Headquarters, US Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Contracting, located in Washington, D.C. Management may select from any grade advertised. Responsibilities Respond to taskers and inquiries and relay instructions, tasks, and action items to appropriate offices and staff and advise them of the Director’s guidance or expectations. Brief the Executive Director prior to meetings/conferences and ensure necessary reference material is provided on matters to be discussed. Work with counterparts of other agencies and offices to resolve administrative operating problems, and to research and coordinate actions in-order to clarify issues and obtain concurrence. Establish, receive, screen, and maintain the Director’s schedule of appointments, meetings, conferences, speaking engagements, and other commitments. Oversee meeting/briefing administrative issues such as teleconference/video teleconference dial in, taking attendance, and taking meeting minutes and due outs. Make travel arrangements, prepare itineraries, and work closely with the command, installation, or civilian communities to be visited on all administrative details. Apply a working knowledge of research methodologies, coupled with high-level of expertise in technical writing and editing skills. Experience required at GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining cognizance of the policies, plans, and objectives that influence the daily operation of the agency; making travel arrangements, preparing itineraries, and working closely with the command and civilian communities to be visited on all administrative details; and researching relevant laws, regulations and policies and developing appropriate historical information relating to program accomplishments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Additional Information Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE two (2) Years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
