ResponsibilitiesAs an Executive Technology Underwriter, you’ll be responsible for the management and growth of an assigned book of business as well as the acquisition of new business with a focus on Technology Middle Market insurance customers. We will rely on you to analyze customers’ business information and claims history, monitor clients’ activities to change the policies as risks evolve. You’ll evaluate acceptability of individual risks and determine overall acceptability of risk, coverage terms and pricing to achieve company profit objectives. You’ll work with agents/brokers to develop productive and profitable relationships while also ensuring compliance with company underwriting guidelines and insurance regulators. You’ll utilize your sales, marketing and negotiating skills to grow the book and enhance your producer relationships.
Experience underwriting professional with strong property and casualty underwriting skillsManage growth, profit and loss for assigned regionManage agency/producer relationships for assigned regionHandle new and renewal submissions and endorsement requests from agents/ producersDocument underwriting files to support analysis, coverage terms and pricingOperate in accordance with underwriting authority as delegated by managerIn conjunction with management, lead business initiatives for territory including execution of pricing, premium retention, coverage analysis, loss control needs, claim service needs and account stewardshipProvides clear instruction and guidance to underwriting support staff and operations staffApply your sales and marketing skills and strategies in order to meet financial goalsFollow established pricing, underwriting and documentation protocol as set forth by underwriting managementMentor & coach junior underwriters and underwriting support staffMay perform other functions as assigned
Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a commercial underwriting experienceKnowledge of commercial lines underwriting standards and practices along with rating/pricing methodsKnowledge of interpreting coverage formsNegotiation skillsExperience selling and/or marketing insurance products & servicesProducer management – driving results and managing agency/producer relationshipsStrong customer service skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently as well as in a team environmentStrong interpersonal skillsPresentation skillsExcellent PC skills and a working knowledge of Windows environment a valid driver’s license and carry vehicle insurance coverage.Education
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
