Executive Vice President, Human Resources – RX Global & RELX Corporate

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, global HR leader to shape the future of HR within our RX Global business and for RELX Corporate. RX Global is a global leader in events and exhibitions, leveraging industry expertise, data, and technology to build businesses for individuals, communities, and organisations. With a presence in 25 countries across 42 industry sectors, RX hosts approximately 350 events annually.

In RX Global, you’ll lead the People Strategy for our $1.2bn, 2,700 employee business, ensuring alignment with the broader RELX mission, delivering impactful, measurable outcomes for our people and business.  As the EVP HR for our RELX Corporate function, you’ll partner with RELX C-Suite leadership to embrace modern HR practice, leveraging talent and culture to accelerate the delivery of RELX’s ambition from the inside out.

You will be joining our global RELX HR leadership team, playing a pivotal role in shaping and driving our modern, people-centric HR strategy, balancing the unique needs of RX with the broader RELX agenda. You will bring a strong commercial focus, tech-savvy leadership and the ability to thrive in a complex global matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership: Collaborating with the CEO, leadership team and RELX HR Leadership Team (HRLT) to develop and execute business strategies that align with both divisional and enterprise-wide goals.

Talent & Culture: Leading the transformation of talent and culture strategies to position RX as a leader in innovation, inclusion and engagement. Developing and executing talent assessment, selection, capability building and deployment plans, ensuring alignment with global objectives.

HR Modernization: Championing the evolution of a contemporary HR function that leverages technology to drive efficiency, enable self-service and enhance the employee experience. Leading the integration of digital tools and analytics to improve decision-making and outcomes.

Change Leadership: Acting as a change agent, supporting operational and cultural shifts needed to achieve strategic priorities. Educating, influencing and inspiring leaders and employees to embrace new ways of working.

Leadership Development: Building trust and relationships with key leaders, by role-modelling effective HR leadership and fostering a high-performance, outcome-focused culture.

Organizational Effectiveness: Navigating and managing the nuances of two distinct businesses within RELX (RX Global and RELX Corporate), ensuring consistency where necessary whilst allowing for flexibility in execution. Driving initiatives that enhance organizational health, agility and efficiency.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Championing RELX’s DEI objectives, embedding them into the cultural fabric of RX Global and RELX Corporate.

Collaboration & Integration: Working seamlessly with HR Centres of Excellence (COEs) and Shared Services to deliver scalable, impactful solutions that meet business needs.

Resourceful Decision-Making: Refining HR processes to deliver high-value outcomes without focusing solely on cost-cutting. Leading with a mindset of resourcefulness and continuous improvement.

Internal Communications: Overseeing corporate and internal communications to reinforce brand reputation, purpose and values, ensuring alignment with our mission.

Requirements:

Extensive senior HR leadership experience in a global, matrixed, multinational organization with a proven track record of driving impactful change.

Expertise in talent management, organizational effectiveness and fostering a performance-driven culture.

Demonstrated success in leading progressive HR functions, effectively utilizing COEs and offshore Shared Services.

Strong technological literacy, with experience leveraging technology to enable HR transformation and improve employee experience.

Proven ability to thrive in complex, matrixed environments and to balance divisional needs with enterprise objectives.

Critical Leadership Capabilities:

Commercial Acumen: Engage with senior leaders as a trusted advisor, financially astute with a strong focus on costs, able to combine business insights with a data-driven approach to HR service delivery.

Outcome-led: Defining and achieving measurable results that align with the organization's strategic goals and drive overall business success through effective human resources practices.

Change Leadership: Inspire and lead cultural and operational change initiatives, fostering a collaborative and agile organizational mindset. Challenge HR team members to break out of their comfort zones and think beyond their own silos, driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within HR.

Collaboration & Influence: Build credibility with diverse stakeholders, negotiating effectively and driving alignment across multiple functions.
