Job Overview 

This position performs and coordinates activities of the cardiac rehabilitation program and plays a vital role in promoting health and wellness through exercise and physical activity interventions. This position involves working closely with patients, healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement exercise programs tailored to individual needs. Conducts assessments, monitors progress, and provides guidance and education to help patients achieve their health and rehabilitation goals. In collaboration with physicians and other therapists, specialized exercises are integrated into the care plan.   

Location: Lowell General Hospital - Saints Campus - 1 Hospital Drive - Lowell, MA

Hours: 40 hours days - Monday - Friday

 

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physiology, or related. 

2. One (1) year of related experience. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 

 

1. Assists with the planning, administration and direction of daily activities of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and EECP Programs. 

2. Serves as a liaison between physician and patient. 

3. Develops a treatment plan that includes a problem list and established patient goals that are based on the individual patient’s risk factor profile, functional capacity, potential for improvement, and personal goals.  

4. Performs EECP testing with cardiac monitoring in collaboration with cardiac rehab nurse 

5. Develops, implements, and evaluates a PI plan for cardiac rehab based on MACVR recommendations in conjunction with the Director, develops, plans, and establishes policies and procedures for all phases in conjunction with established JCAHO criteria.   

6. Maintains equipment and environment to ensure a safe area for patients, family, and staff.  

7. Assists the Director in preparation of program reports and statistics.
