All while understanding that **together** we are even better. **Schedule:** **Part Time** **Shift** : **Monday-Friday, and the hours are days between 7am-7pm** **Location:** 601 East Rollins Street Orlando, FL 32803 **The community you’ll be caring for:** _AdventHealth Orlando_ + Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando + Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America + AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country + We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year **The role you’ll contribute:** **The Exercise Physiology I - TRI ensures the operation of instrumentation, exercise equipment and participant care, including scheduling, within the Exercise & Bioenergetics Laboratory (EBL). Responsible for exercise training on research participants. Protects confidentiality of participant information, results and sponsor at all times** **The value you’ll bring to the team:** + Evaluates the participant’s health risks to ensure safe participation and determine level of monitoring/supervision in an exercise program. + Instructs the participant in the safe and effective use of exercise modalities, exercise plan, reporting symptoms and study organization. Coordinates and supervises exercise programs with multiple participants exercising at one time while recording vitals (i.e., heart rate and Ratings of Perceived Exertion (RPE)). + Responsible for conducting 12-lead ECG/VO2max exercise tolerance tests including but not exclusive to treadmill and/or cycle ergometer and performing manual or automated exercise testing blood pressure measurements. + Conducts isokinetic dynamometer muscle measurements and various fitness assessment measurements, including but not limited to step tests, handgrip dynamometry, skin fold caliper testing, etc., as dictated per study protocol. + Operates instrumentation, including calibration, quality control (QC) measures, troubleshooting of all exercise equipment, participant care and scheduling within the Exercise & Bioenergetics Laboratory (EBL). + Performs calibration, QC, preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and other tests based on established standard operating procedures (SOP), providing feedback for the continual development of processes within the EBL Core. Qualifications **The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** + Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology, or equivalent degree/education (pre-med, or science focus) or equivalent experience + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, + **_OR_** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification + 1 year of experience with the application of exercise concepts/techniques/methods in a biological or medical setting (Preferred) + ACSM certification (i.e., CEP, EP-C, CPT) or equivalent/related certification (Preferred) This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
