Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Expanded Duty Dental Assistant within the Rutgers University Dential Associates Department at the School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).
Under general supervision of the Oral Surgeon, the Expanded Duty Dental Assistant performs chairside, desk side and sterilization assistance for Rutgers University Dental Associate providers. This Expanded Duty Dental Assistant assists providers during various examinations, treatment of patients and dispenses dental materials and instruments. Expanded Duty Dental Assistant performs other clerical, sterilizing and miscellaneous tasks properly aligned with the functions of a registered dental assistant.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Chairside assists oral surgeon during standard and complex procedures. Anticipates the surgeons’ needs during procedures. Hands instruments to surgeon during examinations and treatment of patients. Manages post-operative patient care, monitors anesthesia patients in recovery. Serves as sterilization assistant. Cleans and sterilizes room after each use; prepares room for oral surgeons based on scheduled procedures. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
