The Expatriate Tax team, which forms part of our Global Employer Services offering, helps companies and their internationally mobile employees assisting with any tax or other implications resulting from international business travel or longer-term assignments. Working with a broad client base, from start-ups to multinationals who are often moving abroad for the first time, the team works with companies as a whole and with individual employees to help them with some of the biggest decisions of their lives.

That means you’ll need strong people skills so you can build relationships defined by trust. You’ll be part of a high-performing and growing team with an emphasis on assigning work that broadens your capabilities. You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working pro-actively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

You’ll be someone who:

Work with senior and junior members of the wider regional and national teams

Demonstrate strong team playing skills in all client and internal management dealings

Develop professional relationships with clients and within the firm

Provide an efficient and proactive service to clients and their internal management to ensure that their needs are fully met

Undertake any training or development co-ordinated by the Tax team

Take on tasks and challenges provided by their manager

Develop a clear understanding of relevant legislation

Good knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Knowledge of recent key updates and areas of focus in the area of Expatriate Tax is valuable but not essential, e.g. the Statutory Residence Test, Short Term Business Visitors, Non Resident Directors, International Remote Working, etc.
