**Job Title: Expediting Specialist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Expediting Specialist to ensure the accurate and efficient movement of parts within our production process. The ideal candidate will coordinate the transportation of products, track test materials, handle lot splitting, assist in planning and shipping, manage routing changes, and promote safety in the workplace.
**Responsibilities**
+ Coordinate and document the transportation of products between departments or within product teams.
+ Determine daily status, meet with leads to assess needs, and facilitate the movement of parts to other areas while ensuring clear communication among production departments.
+ Report the status and schedule of products to Planning to ensure delivery schedules are met.
+ Determine the daily status of parts for outside processing.
+ Track, document, and move test bar materials through production and inspection operations to ensure availability and timely shipping.
+ Check casting schedules against test materials, verify identification and quantities.
+ Record the progress of test materials throughout the production process, ensuring they are prepared for each stage and processed in accordance with Tech Cards.
+ Move test materials between departments, authorize and split test materials when part lots are split.
+ Ensure proper storage and control of test bars awaiting shipment.
+ Resolve problems regarding test materials by working with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Shipping, and the Testing Lab.
+ Transport and warehouse parts to be split from the initial lot to the crib area, maintaining test bars accompanying split parts.
+ Issue new lot numbers to parts taken from split crib inventory for new part lots.
+ Input split lot transactions, reissue information, and new shipping dates into the computerized inventory/dispatch system.
+ Reconcile errors and/or omissions in the system.
+ Coordinate activities with other personnel.
+ Process parts in the scrap crib and delete them from the system.
+ Assist planning and shipping in preparing schedules and production reports.
+ Develop special schedules and estimates.
+ Assist in setting shipping objectives.
+ Assist in preparing daily shipping reports and distribute them.
+ Assist in determining earned standard hour requirements.
+ Assist in capacity reviews.
+ Coordinate all paperwork necessary to initiate routing changes throughout the plant.
+ Ensure completion of all necessary signatures prior to routing changes.
+ Implement paperwork for routing changes and input into the computer system while coordinating with Engineering and Manufacturing.
+ Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
+ Safely operate all equipment and tools.
+ Identify and report safety problems.
+ Perform other tasks as directed.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Excellent customer service skills.
+ Ability to use a palette jack.
+ Good handwriting.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with computerized inventory/dispatch systems.
+ Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
+ Comfortable working in a foundry environment with areas of extreme heat and exposure to outside weather.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a foundry environment, which includes areas of extreme heat and exposure to outside weather. The work involves a lot of moving parts, such as forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyor systems, automated machinery, high-temperature furnaces, and dusty conditions.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
