Kimley-Horn's Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Transit team. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit and rail projects with a particular focus on, but not limited to:Commuter RailHeavy Rail Transit (HRT)Light Rail Transit (LRT) projectsTasks will include concept development, final design, schedule development, and cost estimatingHas an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our well-established transportation practiceAssist with managing their projects profitablyEngage in hands-on practice and delivery of projectsTransition work to qualified staffAct as a positive leader and mentorContribute significantly to marketing and business development efforts and have the autonomy to pursue their own passions, leads, and clientsAs a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions Qualifications 2+ years of transit-focused engineering experience including:Transit corridor design experience with a focus on (but not limited to) rail modesTrack, guideway, and facility designBachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering"Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)Experience using Synchro, VISSIM, and/or other traffic analysis software applicationsCommunicating technical thoughts clearly and conciselyExcellent technical writing skillsDetail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environmentAbility to work independently and as a team Why Kimley-Horn?At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
