Requirements for consideration:

Radiation Therapist 2

Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or Certification. 2 years of experience as a Staff Therapist in a Radiation Therapy department with experience in linear accelerators and patient simulation American Registered Radiologic Technologist required upon start. VA License required at PROC (Woodbridge)

Job Responsibilities:

The Radiation Therapist communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, healthcare team members, supervisors, and outside contacts.   Responsible for treatment modalities and protocols to accurately set-up and administer treatments on a daily basis.  Verifies the proper functioning of linear accelerators, simulators and Computed Tomography machines. Positions patients for initial treatment and verifies set-up per prescriptions; Verifies beam parameters, ancillary aids and blocking via record and verification systems on machine and patients' computerized treatment plans before initiation of radiation beam; Detects unsatisfactory set-up and/or errors in addition to resolving or reporting such errors to physicians. Acts as a Liaison between physicians and machine staff by utilizing technical expertise for all difficult/complex treatments on various machines. May perform additional duties as assigned.
