The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Software Systems Engineer to join the Ridley Park, PA campus, where we work on multiple Boeing programs, including V-22 Osprey, H-47 Chinook, Enterprise DevSecOps, and others. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
As a Software Systems Engineer, you will support our teams by translating system requirements into effective software solutions in a fast-changing environment. You will also help improve our processes, tools, and metrics. We are looking for a skilled software engineer with experience in aircraft systems, including flight control and mission systems.

Position Responsibilities:
Design, develop, analyze, and maintain software systems that support military aircraft flight software and applications.
Inform system definition and translate system-level requirements and models into software requirements that meet customer, operational needs, and performance requirements and have clear traceability to design, code, and test artifacts.
Provide technical solutions to difficult problems.
Perform code and test reviews to ensure agreement with system objectives.
Assist with model development, code development, and/or code autogeneration from Simulink models.
Monitor and review test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software systems.
Develop tests to verify software design requirements are achieved.
Review product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by tracking and evaluating internal team and supplier performance. Perform software management activities.
Tailor and deploy processes, tools, and metrics.
Develop and implement continuous improvements to design, tools, and techniques to improve the software quality and/or team performance, leveraging design best practices.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Coding Challenge:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
5+ years of experience with full life-cycle Software development, modeling, simulation, testing, and/or analysis using C, C++, C#, Python, Java, Ada, or Linux
3+ years of experience with real-time software development
Experience working on aircraft systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Familiar with software systems and their requirements
Experience and knowledge of the software engineering lifecycles and application of relevant methodologies and toolsets, including requirements software engineering lifecycles and application of relevant methodologies
Experience working in Agile software development framework
Familiar with DOORS
Familiar working with and/or developing software requirements/test methodology using MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429 standards
Experience using and deploying automation, continuous integration, and other DevSecOps tools and techniques
Proven examples of implementing process or tool enhancements to benefit team-based software development, efficiency, and/or enhanced product technical outcomes
Familiarity with DO-178C requirements
Travel: up to 10%

Summary Pay Range: $114,750 - $155,250
