Here at VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant with a positive attitude to join our team! A minimum 2 years of veterinary experience is required. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.In this position you will be supporting our 3 doctors and team by creating a positive, low-stress environment for our clients and patients. As an experienced team member, the skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
 PhlebotomyCatheter placementRadiology/ diagnostic imagingAnesthesia monitoringPatient assessmentsSurgical preparation and assistingDentistryLaboratory workMedication fulfillmentPatient recoveryMaintaining medical recordsProviding compassionate care to all animals in our careCommunication skills

A typical schedule is 3-4 days per week with Saturday rotations.PayOur pay rate starts at $16.00/hr and is based on experience.
