Tech Insights at Bain & Company is a rapidly growing global team of world-class technologists. We work with leading Private Equity (PE) investors and their tech-enabled portfolio companies to act as technical advisors in investment processes. We conduct product and technology due diligence engagements and value creation assignments, leveraging our extensive expertise in software and understanding of commercial environments specific to tech-enabled businesses. The global Tech Insights team consists of technology savvy consultants and former CTOs and CPOs of leading global technology and software companies with decades of both advising and operating experience. The team has completed 400+ product and technology diligences and value creation engagements worldwide.
Over the past 3 years, we have supported our clients on some of the most visible technology investments in the US and Europe, including several of the Top 2023 and Top 2024 software deals. We conduct engagements spanning enterprise applications, vertical applications (HCIT, FinTech, EdTech), infrastructure software, cloud software, and tech enabled services (IT services, e-Commerce, AdTech). Job Description and Responsibilities
At Bain, you will leverage your technology and consulting experience in actively contributing to projects, assessing key aspects of leading software companies for PE investors. You will join the global Tech Insights leadership team and the regional private equity (PE) teams.
You will help our clients strategically approach how technology will shape their businesses and solve some of the most challenging issues they face. Working alongside an outstanding group of individuals, you will develop and enhance your own technology expertise, commercial acumen, and analytical capabilities. Additionally, you will gain direct exposure to CEOs, Executives, and Private Equity professionals. Responsibilities in Detail:
Drive practice wide agendas and help to scale a new business as a core part of the Tech Insights leadership team, act as thought partner to Tech DD leadership on our growth and strategy.Work closely with Partners and Expert Partners to lead and drive technology due diligence and value creation assignments on behalf of PE investors targeting software businesses.Provide broad and deep expertise across a variety of technical topics across a range of industry verticals; formulate and drive new and differentiating IP for the practiceActively contribute across the entire client engagement, from formulating the project scope to building and presenting the final report. Coach junior team members as the primary Technologist on an engagement.Conduct hypothesis-led problem solving, communicate complex ideas, and approach problems strategically.Effectively develop and communicate recommendations and insights to the project team, PE investors, and technology leaders.Enhance Bain’s Tech DD’s brand through external reputation building and marketing efforts.
