What You'll Do

BCG is growing! We are looking for looking for Expert Project Leader consultants focused in Procurement, who will partner with clients to take on their most difficult challenges, transform mindsets, create outstanding value, and build capabilities that enable organizations to achieve sustainable advantage. Ideal candidates will have previous industry and management consulting experience and demonstrated leadership in growing client relations, people and knowledge development. They will possess significant experience in procurement with depth in strategic sourcing and a genuine passion for problem-solving. 

 

As an Expert Project Leader, you will lead and execute casework for procurement clients, developing strategies to optimize procurement processes and enhance supply chain management. You will be integrated into a BCG team and leverage your deep expertise on projects that reshape businesses. You will be given end-to-end responsibility for large and complex “modules” within a BCG project and may lead small but high-impact teams to drive results for our procurement clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their issues, create strategies for change, and win buy-in for your recommendations, while also collaborating with colleagues on complex client issues. Your expertise will be valued by senior clients and you will help build and contribute to BCG’s intellectual capital while spending significant time supporting and executing case work.

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.


What You'll Bring

5-10+ years of professional experience in procurement, including 2+ of those years in management consultingIndustry experience in industrial goods, energy, oil and gas, or transportation preferredExperience in direct materials sourcing and management of programmatic effortsProven expertise in cost reductions, category strategy development, and negotiationsTrack record of collaboration with senior executives. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to managementStrong management and communication skills. The ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action is essential Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the normProven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagementsA combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is criticalA solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organizations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the businessA degree from a top-tier institution preferred
