Your impact

The Exploration Technology Analyst provides advanced financial analysis of the impact of technology implementation(s), & guides the development of IRP’s 
 

As part of our team you will Assess the business impact of technology implementationFormulate requests for funding submissions for Value Assurance & Investment CommitteeTrack the performance metrics of technology contractsNegotiate contracts and service agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditionsConduct market analysis to identify and evaluate new technologies and trends that could benefit exploration activitiesNegotiate collaboration projects with research institutions and industry partnersManage budgets related to exploration technology and ensure cost-effective use of resourcesReport to management on vendor performance, contract status, and potential risksEnsure the technology strategy adheres to regulatory standards and sustainability goalsCoordinate with procurement and legal departments to manage vendor contracts and resolve disputes.
 Prerequisites for success in this role University degree in Geology, Engineering or related field; MBA considered an advantageBroad earth resource industry experience (mining, mineral exploration, oil & gas)Ability to understand strategic significance of continuous improvement and successful innovation in the context of Newmont’s corporate goalsGood knowledge of the resource development process from grassroots exploration to reserve definition and production.Strong understanding of Newmont’s investment system, including format of IRP’s, Value Assurance process and Investment Committee requirementsDemonstrated experience in developing and maintaining external relationshipsAdvanced proficiency in the use of technology (e.g. handheld/benchtop scanners, 3D mapping etc.) and industry standard software through the exploration value chainAdvanced proficiency in market research, financial analysis and data compilation for trend identification. Advanced proficiency in the synthesis of information on new exploration technology from third party sources and identification of high value opportunitiesCompetent proficiency in the production of clear written documents and accurate presentations for technical and non-technical audiencesAdvanced commercial skills: budgets, forecasting, planning, analysis, reporting and communicating resultsFlexibility to identify and adapt to changing requirements from the business and stakeholders.Second language skills (French, Spanish, Dutch) will be considered an asset
 Your work environment The preferred location for this position is the corporate headquarters in Denver, CO This role requires frequent travel to Newmont mine sites and exploration properties

The salary range offered for this role is USD $108,000 to 141,750. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.  

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
