Responsibilities Program Administration - Serves as an explosives safety subject matter expert (SME) for the implementation of a comprehensive explosive safety program for all activities within the Division and assigned units. Accident/Incident Investigations and Reports - Investigates ammunition and explosive accidents and incidents, and weapon-related accidents and incidents. Investigation of varied accident circumstances requires extensive expertise in accident investigation techniques, and knowledge regarding ammunition, explosives, and weapons systems. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Evaluating practices and conditions to identify and resolve unsafe munitions handling, transporting, storing, testing, or disposal operations; monitoring an explosives safety program to determine compliance with established policies and regulations; and implementing specialized safety activities to eliminate or reduce the potential for injuries to employees and/or damage to buildings, aircraft, equipment, machines or other property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
