Description Robert Half is currently seeking to hire a detail-oriented Ocean Export Clerk.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of ocean freight shipments, dealing with various stages of documentation, tracking freight performance, maintaining operational files, customer service, and performing other duties . Responsibilities: + Prepare and maintain all necessary shipping documents in compliance with customs and regulations. + Coordinate with shippers, truckers and steamship lines for the export of shipments. + Complete process of shipment includes arranging for cargo collection and delivering shipments. + Track and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping. + Maintain effective communication and close cooperation with customers, carriers, and other external parties involved in the shipment processes. + Interact with our customers in arranging their shipments, meeting customer service standards. + Filing AES’s (Electronic Export Information). + Provides customer support at the desk level to all internal and external customers, vendors, suppliers, agents and government agencies to ensure coordination and logistics of shipments. Requirements + Previous experience in a similar role within the shipping/freight forwarding industry preferred. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to interact with customers from various backgrounds. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software. + General knowledge of U.S Export laws and regulations; familiarity with duties and tariffs. + Ability to prioritize, multitask with attention to detail and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset and an ability to work in a team Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
