Exposure Coach/Research Assistant

Summary:
The Pediatric Anxiety Research Center (PARC) at Bradley Hospital is a nationally recognized program focused on pediatric OCD and anxiety. As part of the interdisciplinary team this position supports both clinical and research activities. Responsibilities include research tasks such as data management recruitment and analysis as well as clinical duties involving the implementation of exposure-based therapeutic programs for children and adolescents. This role offers opportunities for mentorship participation in research and clinical projects and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Duties:
Assist with data entry management and analysis for ongoing research projects Recruit and consent research participants. Prepare and submit documentation to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Participate in multidisciplinary research discussions Administer rating scales and diagnostic interviewsClinical Responsibilities:
Support and supervise children/adolescents in therapeutic exposure-based activities as part of the treatment plan. Assist patients with anxiety-related challenges in daily activities encouraging them to confront anxiety triggers. Implement and observe exposure therapy techniques under the direction of the Clinical Director and Exposure Coach III. Intervene in crises always ensuring a therapeutic and safe environment.Therapeutic Milieu and Care Planning:
Actively engage with patients and contribute to the development of exposure therapy plans. Co-lead therapeutic groups and community meetings including those focused on exposure therapy. Assist in creating individualized anxiety symptom hierarchies for patients and adjust care plans as needed based on ongoing observations. Provide psychoeducation to patients and families about exposure therapy and support parents in their roles during treatment.Collaboration and Documentation:
Participate in diagnostic conferences treatment team meetings and shift hand-offs. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions treatment progress and incident reports. Collaborate with psychologists psychiatrists and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure a coordinated care plan.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology human biology neuroscience or related field. Previous experience in research and clinical settings is preferred particularly with pediatric populations. Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and effectively with children and families. Experience in data management or past research project involvement is a plus.Additional Requirements:
Certification in crisis management CPR OSHA ERS and other relevant certifications. Completion of on-the-job training in exposure treatment at the Pediatric Anxiety Research Center. Ability to manage stressful situations use de-escalation techniques and engage in physical management when necessary ensuring patient safety and a therapeutic environment. Clean driving record candidates must be comfortable taking patients out into the community 1:1Supervisory Responsibility: None
