We have an exciting opportunity for a Enhanced Brief Intervention Worker to join our busy Tower Hamlet service to provide support as part of a pathway of care for available for alcohol related support in the city. Our new postholder will support people concerned about their own or their loved ones alcohol consumption levels.
Where: Tower Hamlets, London
Hours: Full Time, 37.5hrs per week
Salary: £27,449.53 - £30,606.83 dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)
Allowances: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2026
ResponsibilitiesAbout the role:
Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journeyDeliver specific interventions designed to reduce the harm caused by use of opiates via PODs or one to one workingEnsure that service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-based detoxification service user plan; including support for preparation for detox and aftercareWork with other agencies and the community to build recovery capital for service users signposting to mutual aid and other networksPromote carer, service user and community involvementProvide advocacy for access to partnership servicesWork with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
About you:
Experience of providing harm reduction advice in relation to alcohol disorders/abuseKnowledge and experience of MI and CBT and of utilising these in 1-2-1 and/or group settings with alcohol clients.Experience of completing assessments and being able to identify specific needsKnowledge of the issues experienced by people affected by alcohol abuse/disorders e.g stigma, poverty, discrimination
