Extension Program Assistant -Community Engagement
Job Description:Program Delivery
Conduct a variety of youth program activities and projects related to school enrichment and day camps short-term experiential learning . Teach groups of youth utilizing prepared curricula. Prepare demonstration materials to aid in the presentation of school family nights and science nights.
Planning & Program Support
Plan, organize, and schedule programs. Plans and prepares lessons and materials. Identifies school
school and community partners and cultivates relationships with teachers and youth development professionals. Continues to improve knowledge of subject matter and teaching methods.
Reporting
Learn UF and county 4-H financial transactions and processes.
Enter data in 4-H Online to track program participants. Assist youth and volunteers with enrollment and event registration in 4-H Online. Maintain records of programs and youth participants and provide report to County Extension Agent regularly as requested.
Training & Travel
Develops and improves knowledge of 4-H youth development subject matter, becomes proficient in determining clientele needs, understands various methods of reaching and teaching clientele, and develops proficiency in using 4-H youth development materials via participation in orientation training, continuous on-the-job training and self-study. Travels according to 4-H youth development policy. Day and overnight travel includes taking youth to county, district and state events - Youth/Adult Ratio Compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned. Example: fair assistance and judging contest coordination, etc
SUPERVISION
Verbal and written instructions for training purposes, program delivery, and procedural forms. Additional instructions on an as-needed basis. Must be able to work independently and in a team. This position reports to the 4-H Youth Development Agent with daily activities assigned by 4-H Youth Development Agent.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE
This employee will work flexible hours depending on upcoming events. Office hours are 8:00 to 5:00 with an hour lunch, M-F. Some evenings and weekends are required
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW.
Valid DL license
OTHER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position. For purposes to travel to county, district and state events and other duties assigned. Background check and fingerprinting required.
MONETARY RESPONSIBILITY
Prepares and administers budgets and reports. Balances and maintains bank accounts.
Expected Salary:
$19.50-$21.75/hr Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:An associate degree or a bachelor's degree is preferred.
Teaching, camping, or youth development background desired.
Familiarity with military youth.
Effective written and oral communication skills
