**External Affairs Manager**
At Amgen Breda, we manage processes from labeling and assembling medicines to storage and shipment across various countries worldwide. Every day, more than 1000 people from 42 different nationalities work together on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and clinical research to deliver life-changing treatments.
**Introduction**
The sustainability of healthcare is experiencing challenges due to increasing patient volumes and staff shortages. Several transitions are ongoing in healthcare to maintain the well-being of society, including digitalization, information management and translocation of care. Amgen operates in the Dutch market to make its innovations accessible for patients. Our mission is to serve patients. We seek an **External Affairs Manager** to connect our organization with partners involved in significant healthcare transitions and to align our offerings with these developments. The Amgen office is located in Breda, from which we serve Dutch patients as well as manufacture and distribute to various countries. Amgen is one of the top global biotech companies in the world.
**What you will do**
As an External Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for delivering and driving the external affairs plan. Your role involves engaging with partners and coalitions to help driving the transitions in healthcare and Amgen adjusting to these new developments. You will collaborate with external partners and our in-house expertise teams on homecare, RWD & Technology, and our cardiovascular, hemato-oncology, and inflammation franchise teams.
In this role, you will:
+ Identify policy priorities and leverage points for collaboration to improve suitable care.
+ Develop and implement external affairs plan with partner objectives.
+ Connect with key policymakers, e.g. the healthcare institute and the healthcare authority and other partners, e.g. hospitals, care groups, data providers and regional networks to leverage insights, engage in policy ideation and co-creation of value propositions.
+ Advise franchises on health policy and advocacy initiatives.
**What we expect of you**
+ Background/degree in life science/biotechnology.
+ Strong affinity with the biotech and healthcare sectors.
+ Broad expertise and network within the healthcare system.
+ Strong connector and communicator.
+ Strong negotiation skills.
+ Understanding of the broader context, with the ability to set analytical and prioritized goals.
+ Partner for key policymakers and other customers to collaboratively work on shared goals and propositions.
+ Fluency in Dutch and in English (full professional proficiency).
