Basic Function
The Communications Manager TAA EU, reporting to the Associate Director of Corporate Affairs & Communications, TAA, will lead the development and execution of regional and local external comms initiatives for Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting (TAA).
This role will drive initiatives to strengthen brand value, optimize external visibility, and increase awareness across key markets and audiences. As a central collaborator, the Communications Manager will work across divisions, functions, and geographies to deliver consistent and impactful brand messaging that aligns with TAA’s strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in PR and Media Relations in EU countries, solid experience in driving thought leadership and promoting executive visibility, with expertise in both strategic planning and tactical execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic communications counsel to the regional team across Europe as a talented external communications professional with an excellent sense of judgment and the ability to earn trustExecute comprehensive external communications/media relations strategies, plans, and activities in support of the TAA division in the UK/Europe regionManage and develop externally focused communications materials to include but not be limited to: press releases, stand-by statements, news alerts, media briefings, targeted emails to editors/reporters, FAQs, and by-lined articlesProactively pitch and engage with targeted reporters and media outlets to educate them on the TAA journey in the region and create greater visibility (via attributions) for the division and its business units regionallyPartner closely with relevant Branding & Communications, Marketing, and other leaders, to ensure alignment with market messaging and initiatives;Provide strategic counsel to executive leadershipLeverage insights for stories to build external awareness, typically with media/analysts/influencers, ensuring integrated approach with Branding & Communications.Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key media outlets, industry publications and other influencers - pitch stories to key publications with a planned and regular cadenceCreate media/analyst meeting opportunities for executives and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), in support of strategic divisional plans and objectives.Manage award pitches and relevant analyst rankings nominationsMonitor media and notify internal stakeholders of time-sensitive issues, events or coverage, mitigating negative coverage;Govern and leverage external agency partners and vendors to ensure the provision of high impact, consistent and effective messaging;JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR or journalism.Advanced degrees or certifications in external comms and marketing are a plus.Experience
Strong experience of media relations/external communications (all within a corporate or public relations agency environment)Existing set of strong media contacts across Tier 1 media, trade publications, and broadcastSkills and Competencies
Native or near-native fluency in English (written and oral).
