The opportunity

Myanmar, Bangkok, Thailand Open to national and international candidates Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension

The Role:

Under the overall supervision of the UNFPA EECARO Humanitarian Advisor and under the direct supervision of the Regional Coordinator for the Regional Response Strategy to the Myanmar Crisis, the External Relations and Reporting Analyst will work in close collaboration with the Regional Office Humanitarian Unit, the Myanmar Programme Management Unit and the Communications team. S/he will have to progressively develop a good understanding of the technical aspects of UNFPA portfolio including Gender Based Violence, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Population Dynamics, to convey the information effectively to a non-technical audience.

The incumbent will also provide support for the implementation of UNFPA’s resource mobilization initiatives, advocacy, donor relations and dissemination of information utilizing multimedia tools.

Key responsibilities

Support the oversight of quality donor reports through substantive inputs and editing Manages the process and flow of donor reporting and other donor-related matters, including support to donor relations and fundraising Support to strengthen internal donor reporting capacity Provides support to UNFPA’s advocacy, and resource mobilization activities Prepare communication and advocacy products and statements to be used by the Resource Mobilization team to convince and encourage donors to rapidly fund the overall health sector response to affected populations

Selection criteria

Advanced University degree in social science, international relations, or other related areas 5-7 years of relevant experience at the national or international level or with international exposure. Experience within donor organizations reporting is an asset, as is experience working in other UN agencies or other international development organizations; previous Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to speak confidently to donors about UNFPAs mandate and activities Proven skills in the development and implementation of communication/media products and tactics Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by the ability to conceptualize ideas and advocate consensus
