Pay: $26.61 per hour for Extra Helper (Production Worker) in the Mill.
Individuals must be trained and able to work in 2 positions above this position. When qualified and working as 5th hand then pay is $28.72 per hour. When qualified and working as 4th hand then pay is $29.42 per hour.
Shift differential: Employees who work on the second or third shift will receive $1.00 per hour above the employee's regular rate.
Some Duties/Responsibilities:
General housekeeping and cleanliness. Cut tails and assist with threading boxboard webAssist with the installation of new ropesOperate powered industrial equipment.Maintains safe and clean work area.Maintains equipment in safe working condition.Adhering to all mill health and safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to injury/incident/concern reporting, participating in incident investigations and Learning Events, and following any return-to-work requirements.Attending and completing all required training.Ability to work safely and comply with all Local, State, Federal, and WestRock laws, regulations, and practices.Perform the essential functions of the other positions within the department on a relief and fill-in basis. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.Must pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen. Must have a high school diploma or GED.Must be able to work in the United States and have acceptable I-9 documentation.Must obtain and maintain forklift certification via internal training. Must train and qualify to work in other positions in the Department. Read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, tape measures, etc. Must be able to add fractions Must join/be a member of USW Local 264 and meet/sustain requirements of the current appliable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Hours of work: Must be willing to work varying shifts for weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Must work overtime as needed.
