Our client, a wire and cable company provider, is looking to hire an Extrusion Operator for their location in Leominster, MA. The ideal candidate would be responsible for reading the shop order and manufacturing specifications to determine machine setup, materials required, and quantity to run. Verify that raw materials have been delivered to the manufacturing specification.

The Day-to-Day:

Sets temperature profile on extruder appropriate for material to be run.Selects tip and die and installs into crosshead positioning to achieve concentricity.Strings up line, adjusting air pressure on dancers to control proper tension on wire.Adjusts extruder ratio and capstan ratio to achieve proper dimensions.Sets sparker to correct voltage.Puts capstan and take-up in proper gear ratio to run efficiently.Tests tensile and elongation and makes necessary adjustments to wire pre-heat or quench water temperature.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.Adequate verbal and written communication skills.Basic math skills.Must be able to operate machinery in compliance with safety standards.

Pay Rate/Shifts:

$18.00 to $22.00 /hr1st shift- 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM2nd shift- 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
