About the Job: Must be an accountable individual that shows up on time and works as a team member to meet business demands and goals. Work within the extrusion department standing/walking for long periods of time (up to 10 hours per day). May work in other areas including catheter manufacturing as needed. Expected to work overtime as necessary. Shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:30 am Essential Duties/Responsibilities: + Responsible for obtaining raw materials (resins), drying the material, transferring to the extrusion lab and returning any unused portion of the material to the warehouse. + Guides Extrusion Operators in proper line setup and line clearance. + Efficiently set up an extruder and able to run single lumen tubing that meets specification + Set up and run multi-lumen tubing with some assistance + Bare Metal Clean (BMC) extruder as required + Calculates draw down ratios with assistance + Establish a process (correct drawdown, appropriate tooling, heat and run settings, air and speeds, etc.) for a new extrusion job with little assistance + Ensures the quality of the product meets the customer expectations + Ensures that all documentation is accurate and complete including, documenting all run parameters, entering run information in the Extrusion Lot Log, and ensuring the product is correctly labeled + Proficiently follows standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and work instructions (WI’s) Qualifications Position Requirements: + High School Diploma or equivalent + Minimum of 1-year experience as an Extrusion Operator + Exercises good judgement and decision making + Detail-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal, critical and quick-thinking skills + Familiar with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing Principles. + Good working knowledge of quality management systems, ISO 13485:2003, ISO 9001:2008, or similar preferred + Familiar with one or more of the following and assisting with the setup and occasionally running: o Vacuum tank processing o High temperature materials o Taper/bump tubing
