Summary

The Engineer I will perform routine engineering tasks under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer and/or Engineering Manager with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering skills. This position is responsible for part inspections, non-conformance investigations, detailed part stress analysis, implementing solutions to maintain part integrity, and processing deviation request and disposition documentation.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship.Ability to pass physical screening requirements

Education and/or Experience
Required:

Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in an applicable engineering field from an ABET accredited four-year college or universityExcellent oral and written communication skillsProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desired:

Experience with military qualification of new components, and reverse engineering of existing product(2) years of experience in an applicable aircraft or aircraft component design, production, maintenance, or modification engineering related role

Work Conditions

Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs.Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
