F-16 Avionics / Electrical Environmental Lead

SUMMARY

Senior team member responsible for coaching and training F-16 Avionics / Electrical – Environmental Technicians, assisting in the incorporation of new work scope into the site, and identifying opportunities to improve site operations. Responsible for depot-level modification, upgrade, test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic as well as other electrical systems/sub-systems. Examples include radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems/sub-systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaches and trains other F-16 Avionics / Electro-Environmental TechniciansAssists in developing work cards, work instructions, job aids, and operation sequencingModifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems, such as aircraft installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipmentInspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installationUsing hand tools, adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces components following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documentsWhen required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systemsWhen required, assist in fabricating wiring harnessesAccurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic recordsMust effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representativesPerform other duties as assigned

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Must meet one of the following requirements:
A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.An Associate's degree plus 4 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.High School Diploma plus 8 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered.Leadership experience preferred.5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including walking up and down stairs, aircraft maintenance stands, and platformsRequires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workdayMust be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
