Summary
Perform avionics systems and aircraft wiring maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic systems, such as aircraft installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipmentInspects components of avionic systems and equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installationTests avionic systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzersUsing hand tools, adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documentsWhen required, calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specificationsWhen required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systemsWhen required, assist in fabricating wiring harnessesAccurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic recordsMust effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representativesPerform other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship.Ability to pass physical screening requirementsEducation and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED.Must have held a USAF 7 skill level or equivalent in F-16 Avionics Systems.Work Conditions
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs.Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.Compensation and Benefits:
